Friday Matchup: Tyler Anderson Faces Dodgers Kenta Maeda in Rockies Home Opener

Tyler Anderson is coming off a loss at Miami, in which he allowed five runs on nine hits in five innings, leaving him 1-7 in his last 13 starts. The Rockies are 2-11 in those games. He was 3-6 with a 4.15 ERA at Coors Field last year, but is 11-11, 3.73 in his career compared to 7-11, 5.18 on the road.

Anderson had early success agianst the Dodgers, but the Rockies did lose his final three starts against the Dodgers last year. He, however, was 0-1 in the three starts. He left an Aug. 9 game at Coors Field with the score tied at 1-1, and a Sept. 19 at Dodger Stadium with the scored tied at 2-2. He pitched six innings in both games.

Maeda is 4-1 with in five starts in his career at Coors Field, and has a save in three relief appearances. His final five appearances against the Rockies last year came out of the bullpen in September. He struck out eight batters in the four innings, allowing two hits and one walk. He has a career 3.19 ERA at Coors Field.
