Sponsored by Cinch -- The Shirt that Won the West

Is this the do-or-die start for Tyler Anderson? The Rockies left-hander has struggled since the end of last July. He is 0-2 with an 11.30 ERA in his five starts this year. He, however, has won both of his career decision against the D-Backs. Robbie Ray arrives with a 3-4 lifetime record agianst the Rockies, underscored by a 5.77 ERA.

For all of his struggles, Anderson has held the current members of the D-Backs roster to a career .214 batting average. The only player with an average above .250 is pitcher Zack Greinke (.333) and he does not pitch until Sunday's series finale. Charlie Blackmon may be a left-handed hitter, and Robbie Ray may be a left-handed pitcher, but Blackmon has a career .472 average against the D-backs starting pitcher. Ian Desmond has a career .467 average and Nolan Arenado has hit .344.
