Lefthander Chris Rusin, who hasn't pitched in a game since March 1 in spring training because of mid-back strain, is scheduled to return to the mound in a rehab assignment with AAA Albuquerque at Tacoma Monday night, the first of two lefthanders out of the Rockies bullpen who will pitch for the Isotopes this week.
Jake McGee, on the injured list since April 2 with a left knee sprain, flew to Scottsale on Sunday to workout with the players in extended spring training. He will face hitters during a side session on Tuesday, and then join AAA Albuquerque in El Paso on Wednesday.
They both could rejoin the Rockies during a May 14-23 road trip that takes the team to Boston, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
The Rockies left-handed reliever situation took another turn last weekend when Harrison Musgrave was placed on the injured list with a left elbow strain. The seriousness of Musgrave's injury won't be known until later this week.
The Rockies were waiting for swelling to subside before running further tests.
