Chris Rusin, out since early spring training because of a mid-back strain, made his eighth appearance on injury rehab assignment, working a scoreless inning, striking out two for AAA Albuquerque on Wednesday.
Rusin, who has spent time with the Isotopes and AA Hartford, is 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA in his eight appearances. He is unscored upon in five of his eight appearances, inlcuding each of the last two. He struck out two of the three batters he faced in the appearances against Reno on Wednesday.
A pitcher can have up to 30 days on an injury assignment, leaving Rusin with a eight more days, although he also can be activated at any time.

AAA Albuquerque (24-30) lost 7-6 against Reno (D-backs), extending the Isotopes struggles to a five-game losing streak, and nine losses in 10 games. Yency Almonte (0-3, 7.36) suffered his third blown save, allowing three runs, one earned, on two hits and a walk, in the ninth. He struck out two. Peter Lambert (5.07) started and allowed four runs on four hits, including two home runs, and a walk. He struck out six. Pat Valaika (.352) was 2-for-5 with two RBI and his 14th and 15th home runs. Roberto Ramos (.267) was 1-for-3 with his 11th home run, a two-run shot, and Sam Hilliard (.243) hit his team-high 17th home run.
AA Hartford (29-22) was rained out of a game against Portland (Red Sox).
High A Lancaster (27-24) lost 1-0 against San Jose (Giants). Ryan Rolison (2-1, 1.99) suffered the loss, allowing one run and five hits, in six innings. He struck out four and did not walk a batter. The JetHawks were limited to two hits -- a double by Matt Hearn .323, who extended his hitting streak to eight games, and a single by Ramon Marcelino (.221).
Low A Asheville (22-29) was off. The Tourists have won eight of their last 11. They open a four-game series Thursday against West Virginia, which also includes the completion of a game suspended because of rain on April 20.
