Thursday Quick Hits: Rockies 7 at Dodgers 7

GLENDALE, Ariz.

-- Rockies took 2-0 lead in the top first on an RBI groundout by David Dahl and sacrifice fly from Brendan Rodgers. The Dodgers came up with two runs in the bottom of the inning on a Max Muncy ground out Cody Bellinger sacrifice fly off Rockies starter Chad Bettis. Bettis made his second start of the season, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk, striking out one in three innings.

-- The Rockies regained the lead with two outs in the third inning behind an Ian Desmond solo home run, his first of the Spring, and back-to-back hits by Dahl and Rodgers.

--After a Noel Cuevas RBI single stretched the Rockies lead to 5-2, the Dodgers tied the game on a Will Smith sacrifice fly in the fourth inning and a Bellinger two-run home run in the fifth inning. All three runs came off of Rockies pitcher Peter Lambert.

--The Dodgers briefly took the lead after a Josh Thole RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning but the Rockies quickly took the lead back in the top of the eighth on a Colton Welker two-run home run, his team-leading second home run of the Spring. The Dodgers countered with a sacrifice fly by Matt Beatty in the bottom of the eighth, knotting the game at 7-7.

--The Rockies will travel to Mesa tomorrow for the second of three consecutive road games, taking on the Oakland A’s at 1:05 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Jon Gray will make his second start of the Spring against right-hander Aaron Brooks. Left-handed pitcher Tyler Anderson is also scheduled to make his Spring debut.
