Shortstop Trevor Story is expected to be reinstated Tuesday, giving the Rockies a notable boost on both offense and defense in the games leading up to the All-Star break.

The Rockies went 5-6 without Story, who sprained his right thumb June 19 sliding head-first to second base while unsuccessfully trying to stretch a single to a double June 19 at Arizona.

Story is hitting .294 with 17 home runs, 48 RBI, 12 stolen bases and a .907 OPS.

Story on Sunday was selected to the National League All-Star team in a vote of his fellow players, managers and coaches. It is the second consecutive year that Story, 26, is an All-Star.

In addition to batting and OPS, Story also leads NL shortstops in on-base percentage (.360) and slugging percentage (.547). He ranks second in home runs behind the Cubs' Javier Baez (21) and third in RBI behind Baez (57) and the Braves' Dansby Swanson (52).

Story’s team-leading 12 stolen bases _ in 16 attempts _ rank second among NL shortstops behind Trea Turner (17) of the Nationals.
