Quick Hits: Rockies drop 6-3 decision to the A's in Mesa on Friday

-- The battle for second base, a focal point this spring, saw Garrett Hampson draw the start Friday and go 2-for-3 with two RBI and his second home run. He is hitting .455. Ryan McMahon replaced Hampson mid game, and doubled, driving in a run. He is hitting .364.

-- Jon Gray worked three perfect innings, striking out three, as the starter in the Rockies 6-3 loss to the A's on Friday. Gray has a 1.80 ERA in five innings this spring, striking out five.

--Tyler Anderson had his problems in his spring debut. Anderson took over for Gray in the fourth, and allowed four runs on four hits and a walk in two innings.

--The Rockies are on the road for the third day in a row on Saturday. They play the White Sox in Glendale, Az.
