Quick Hits: McMahon Continues to Make an Impression at the Plate

GOODYEAR, Az. -- Ryan McMahon ran his hitting streak to nine games in the Rockies 7-1 split-squad loss to the Indians. McMahon, battling Garrett Hampson and Pat Valaika for the second base job, leads the Cactus League with a .433 spring average.

--The Rockies split-squad played Arizona in a night game in Monterrey, Mexico on Saturday.

-- Chi Chi Gonzalez, a non-roster invitee to spring training, gave up five runs on five hits and two walks in 1 2/3 innings. He is expected to open the season at Triple-A Albuquerque.

--German Marquez, meanwhile, continued his strong showing, striking out nine in three innings. He gave up an unearned run. He gave up four hits and walked one.

--And Scott Oberg ran his scorless streak to five innings with an inning of work. He has allowed one hit and two walks, striking out five, this spring.

-- Tyler Nevin continues to be impressive. He was 1-for-2 and is hitting .417.
