PHOENIX – Nolan Arenado went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI in the Rockies 5-4 loss to the Brewers on Saturday. It was his second multi-hit game of the spring. Arenado came into the game hitting .307 in his previous 13 games.

n Wade Davis allowed his first two runs of the spring in the sixth inning. He was unscored upon in four previous appearances.

n Trevor Story hit his third home run of the spring, a two-run shot off former Rockies right-hander Jhoulys Chacin in the first inning.

n Rockies bench coach Mike Redmond is expected to rejoin the team on Monday. He flew home to Spokane after the death of his mother on Thursday.

n The Rockies play the Cubs in Mesa on Sunday. Chad Bettis is scheduled to pitch for the Rockies and lefty Jose Quintana for the Cubs. Scott Oberg, who worked a scoreless inning on Saturday, is set to make back-to-back appearances for the first time this spring.

n Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield coached first base for the Brewers for three innings. He is a Brewer fan, and like Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray he attended Oklahoma.

“I’d like to face him,” said Gray when he was told that Mayfield had asked to hit against Gray. Mayfield, however, quickly debunked that idea. “I don’t want to face him,” said Mayfield. “He’d strike me out.”
