Third baseman Nolan Arenado is one of the game’s elite players, and shortstop Trevor Story blossomed into an All-Star last year. They give the Rockies magnificent defense on the left side of the infield and middle-of-the-lineup power. Last year they combined for 75 home runs and 218 RBI.
Story and Arenado are also very durable, as is Charlie Blackmon, who provides exceptional power from the leadoff spot. Blackmon, 32, will move from center field to right field as the Rockies seek to reduce the toll that comes from playing half his games at spacious Coors Field.
